It all starts with the beautiful and sustainable forest resources of North Central Pennsylvania. Our sister company Dwight Lewis Lumber then carefully harvests the timber, under the watchful eye of professional foresters taking care to minimize disturbance to the  environment.

 The logs are then sawn into lumber, dried and graded. At each step experienced and skilled people are in place to ensure that the minimum of lumber is wasted and the resource is maximized. Lewis Lumber Products, Inc. then receives this lumber to sort and mill the fine wood products you need.

Lewis Lumber Products, Inc. is located in North Central Pennsylvania in the town of Picture Rocks. We are situated in the heart of the most prolific, diverse and highest quality temperate hardwood forests in the world. We are also within a 300-mile radius of 70% of the United State’s population.

Lewis Lumber Products, Inc. and Dwight Lewis Lumber Company are dedicated to the preservation and enrichment of the timberland environment. Our philosophy has always been forest stewardship because it is socially responsible, it is in our long-term best interest, and quite frankly we all just love the outdoors. 

With every timber cut, a plan is made by trained foresters to protect the watershed, ensure regeneration, and maintain or increase biodiversity. To further show our dedication to the environment Lewis Lumber Products and Dwight Lewis Lumber became Smart Wood certified for chain of custody in 1998. What does this mean, you may be asking? Let me explain. Smart Wood is a nonprofit organization that independently and objectively evaluates a company's forestry practices to make sure they meet the standards set forth by the Forest Stewardship Council. Smart Wood also requires a clear audit trail from the timber lot to the finished product so when you see their logo on our product, you can rest assured it is truly an environmental friendly good. 

We plan to have our own timber lands certified by the end of 1999 and we already are Chain of Custody Certified (having a proper audit trail) for lumber coming off of Pennsylvania State Forest Lands, all of which have been certified.
